North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Launches New Reuse Marketplace for Workplaces

We are excited to formally announce the launch of the North Texas Reuse Marketplace, sponsored by the North Central Texas Council of Governments! The NCTCOG is a voluntary association of, by, and for local governments, established in 1966 that covers a 16-county region including Tarrant and Dallas Counties. Utilizing grant funding from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), NCTCOG will look to Rheaply to advance its existing Materials Management Program, working closely together with the Resource Conservation Council (RCC), cities, counties, school districts, and other entities that aim to help local businesses and nonprofits rethink their waste handling and end-of-life disposition practices.

The RCC is made up of 30 committee members, including individuals from local government, private sector, and environmental and public interest groups who collectively will use Rheaply to:

  • Focus on waste streams that are destined for or often ending up in landfill
  • Verify and onboard new organizations interested in reclaiming items
  • Connect the dots between reuse ecosystem partners in North Texas
  • Provide access to a protected and federated digital marketplace for eligible nonprofits

Discover the key strategies and goals of NCTCOG’s Materials Management Plan.
“The North Central Texas Reuse Marketplace is a great opportunity to divert reusable items from landfills and provides a unique technology platform to facilitate the exchange of used goods, materials and equipment. It’s like shopping on Amazon with the goal of creating a more sustainable, circular economy in our fast-growing region.”
Kathy Fonville
Public Education Manager, North Texas Municipal Water District
